Frequently asked Questions

Life Coaching can be highly beneficial for individuals seeking personal growth, greater self-awareness, and positive change. A life coach helps clients set and achieve goals while supporting them in understanding underlying obstacles or conflicts. Success in coaching depends on your willingness to be open to the process and on the experience, empathy, and consistency of the life coach. When both the client and the coach form a trusting, meaningful relationship, positive and lasting results are likely.

Individual sessions with Coach Ron last 60 minutes. For couples, sessions can be conducted in either 30-minute increments or 75-minute sessions, depending on the needs of the couple.

Sessions are typically held once per week to ensure consistent progress and maintain the therapeutic relationship. However, based on the situation and client needs, sessions can be increased to twice a week or more if deeper self-work or faster progress is desired. The frequency is mutually agreed upon by Coach Ron and the client.

While friends can offer support, a trained and experienced life coach provides professional guidance that is transformative, not just comforting. Life coaches have the skills to help you uncover deeper personal struggles and unconscious conflicts, offering insight that can lead to lasting self-acceptance and fulfillment. A life coach provides a structured, goal-focused environment that’s often more productive than informal conversations with friends.

The duration of life coaching varies depending on your personal goals and the issues you want to address. Many people find that it takes time to uncover and work through deep-seated patterns or traumas, often requiring at least six months to see significant progress. However, the length of the coaching relationship is individualized and will be tailored to your specific needs and goals.

Psychological assessments help diagnose mental health disorders by analyzing symptoms and behavior patterns. Since there is no physical test for mental health conditions, professionals rely on assessing “constructs,” such as depression or anxiety, through observation and interviews. Psychological testing can provide clarity in complex cases, such as learning disabilities or legal matters, where accuracy is vital. The right diagnosis ensures that the appropriate treatment or support can be given.

A life coach helps you achieve personal goals and unlock potential, focusing on motivation and encouragement. They do not diagnose or treat mental illness. On the other hand, mental health counselors are licensed professionals trained to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health conditions. While there can be overlap, such as when therapists use coaching methods, a clear distinction is that therapists address mental health symptoms, while life coaches focus on personal growth and goal achievement. It’s important to note that practicing therapy without a license is illegal.
